My daughter is the most important person in my life. She is only 2 1/2 years old. When I found that I was going to be a dad, I was so excited, waiting for the day to hold her in my hands. Alexandra changed my life just about in every aspect you can think of. Me and my girl were dating for years, when she became pregnant we decided to move in together. The question was who would leave their job. After long thinking, I chose to leave the Army or at least get out of active duty and go into the National Guard. So, I do have to say, Alexandra brought us together to be a family, and we are now expecting a boy in February. Maybe if she wouldn’t have come along, I would have continued to be on active duty, where I had orders to go to Fort Hood, Texas and maybe getting ready for another deployment. My daughter has given me the joy of having my own family.  Also she is such an active person and gets along with kids very well. The personality she displays makes it interesting to observe and she is learning a lot.
The second person would have be my girl, because without her support those deployments to Iraq would have been very difficult for me. She is the backbone of the family. She is good with words and makes a comfort zone for us. I have to say, there is a lot I still have to learn.  I have confidence that with her by my side everything will always be a lot easier.
The third person would be my father. He made me what I am today; he made me appreciate everything that I have. My father has a strong character; I guess that is why as a kid, I wouldn’t hesitate to do whatever he told me to do. That is why I stay away from trouble and focus on school. I also saw my dad scarifice so much for us and work so hard to give us everything. He always thaught us by giving us motivational speeches and being a great mentor. Even till today, he is still teaching me about parenting.

  2. Having a child makes you reprioritize your life. Once my daughter was born it was easy to decide between the military and family.

  3. When your daughter is old enough to know all of the things you've accomplished she'll be very proud to have a father like you.
