Reality Show

In today’s world it seems that no matter what channel you may tune to you will run into a reality show. Reality shows are growing everyday more and more. There are several options for one to pick, from the daily problems to just a simple laugh or a life changing solutions you may need. No matter how much you might try to avoid them there are finding a way into to our lives. But I never thought that these TV shows; would have such an impact in our society especially in our youth. Youth seems to pay more attention on these reality shows than on educational programs. I have seen people talk more about these reality shows than themselves. I guess realty shows has giving them something to talk about. I have not been attracted to watch an episode of a reality show it has never caught my eye. There was a time when I did, it so happen when I was visiting a friend and he was watching Intervention catch. That was the first time that I had seen a reality show. After it was finished I found it so fake. I thought to myself how someone would sit down and watch this on TV. Looking at the actors and the viewers like my friend laughing at of both them at each end. The actors on what they were willing to subject them self’s for their 5 seconds of fame; and the viewers for watching these shows. Somehow we have embraced it and welcome them to our homes. Now in days a teenager may turn to a show for help. Since a lot of these reality shows reflect on the struggles of being a teenager. Rather than to a going to a friend or seeking the right help they might need. That is why I do not think this reality shows should have place in our homes. It blinds everyone on how to make the right decision. Reality show does not care about no one but it ratings and are in it for a quick buck. They also do not stop and thinking about the harm they might be doing some cultures out there. Reality shows have damaged the image of so many cultures. That when they watch an episode that racially profiles a certain group it is easily to think that is how a culture may act. Sadly this is how we are being defined as a society. As long there are viewers that are willing to watch these reality shows. They will continue to have reality shows hopefully these realty shows would have a better purpose one day but we have to change our way of thinking.

  1. It is sad to think that some teenagers might think these shows reflect real life.
